Nasolabial folds are the lines that run from the sides of your nose to the corners of your mouth. They are a natural part of the ageing process, but things like sun damage, smoking, and weight loss can also cause them to appear.
At Cosmedics Skin Clinics, our doctors only use advanced and long-lasting Juvederm® hyaluronic acid-based dermal fillers.
Nasolabial folds are caused by volume loss, which means that dermal fillers tend to be a much better choice, as they allow the practitioner to very precisely revolumise the skin to fill and smooth out the creases in this area.
Cosmedics Skin Clinics do offer laser or IPL treatment and we’d be happy to discuss whether this could be an alternative if preferred. It can also be considered as an additional treatment to complement dermal fillers.
As with any medical procedure, there are some risks and potential complications. The most common issues are temporary redness, swelling or bruising. More serious issues such as infection and allergic reactions are rare. These can be minimised by going to a medically trained and experienced injector.
Results typically last between 6-12 months depending on the type of filler used and how quickly your body metabolises it.
Most people can resume regular activities immediately after treatment. Some redness, swelling, and bruising may occur but typically subsides within a few days.
