“It allows the skin to retain moisture, which can help stimulate the production of collagen. It can also help tighten the skin, strengthen it, and soften and smooth the overall texture.”
He explained that it takes a bit of time to build up, but users should see a difference in couple of weeks with full effects after around 6 weeks of use.
Dr Perry also cautioned against using harsh toners, as this may counteract the hydration provided by glycerine:
“Products containing alcohol, i.e., toners which have a drying effect on the skin, should be avoided on skin already struggling to hold onto moisture during the menopause”
